Originally hailing from Japan, the quartet of Electric Summer contained a nostalgia of early-'80s punk that reminisced towards the likes of the Angry Samoans, the Germs, and Black Flag -- Nervous Breakdown -- era.
But by the time their 1998 debut EP was released on Soda Jerk Records, the lineup of Kazu (drums), Yuda (vocals), Takafumi (bass), and Maki (guitar) were already settled into their newfound headquarters of Denver, CO. The following year, Electric Summer released their self-titled first album, again through Soda Jerk. Shock followed in fall 2000. ~ Mike DaRonco
