Billing themselves as a "bi-coastal black metal/hard rock" unit, Eerie's brooding blend of '70s heavy prog, bluesy stoner metal, and yes, black metal, places the American group within the increasingly genre-melding pantheon of early 21st century heavy music.
Invoking the names of contemporaries like Inter Arma, Kvelertak, and Skeletonwitch, the band features the talents of lauded tattoo artist and former Twilight guitar player Tim Lehi, bass player Dave Sweetapple (Witch), drummer Moses Saarni (Futur Skullz), and vocalist Shane Baker (Alaric, Pins of Light). Shortly after the long-gestating project came to fruition, the band headed to Oakland's Earhammer Audio to begin laying down tracks with producer Greg Wilkinson (Graves at Sea, Vastum). The resulting eponymous debut was released in July 2016 via Teepee Records. ~ James Christopher Monger
