YiannisDrositis studied in the National Conservatoryof Music in Athens under the tuition of Dimitris Dragatakis in theoretics, RitaVourtsi in Piano and Pericles Koukos in Composition.
He also studied in the school of Simon Karas for Byzantine and Traditional Music.
He is actively participating in piano recitalsas a pianist and composer in Athens and Crete. He is doing various recordings for record companies,the Hellenic Broadcasting Company, concerts etc.

The oratorio “Psalms,” which is composed for chorus and symphonicorchestra (presented during the Athens Festival in September 2004 in theHerodion by the Prague Radio Symphony orchestra and the chorus of the AthensFestival conducted by Al. Mirat.).
The one-act comic opera “Maestro Conbravura” which was commissioned bythe Greek National Opera and was successfully staged in 1999 in the MunicipalTheatre of Pireaus and in Heraklion-Crete.
A cycle of children’s songs performed by Arletaand Elli Paspala, which were commissioned by the Ministry of Education.
Music written for the Hellenic TVseries “G. Vizyinos-the Angels’ silence” aired in 2000 on the ET1 channel.
Music written for the theatricalplays “Lysistrati” presented in 1992 inthe University of Athens, “Mill men in love” in 2002 presented in Veakio andthe Municipal Theatres of Zografou, Rhodes and Amarousio, “Antigone” in 2003stages in the Jenny Karezi theatre.
He has written chamber music, chorusand symphonic music, collections of songs, religious music and music for theater.
Articles he has written have beenpublished in newspapers and magazines; pieces of his work have been released inCDs by Lyra, Irida and Motivo record companies.
He is a member of the Union of GreekComposers and the Hellenic Society of Music Teachers.
