Private Mix
Point Peron
Dejana Storey
A small collection of photography that I took at the coast of Point Peron, Western Australia in August 2012. The mix of music comes from a selection of songs I usually play whilst at the point. I often go here for a jog late evening, it is really a beautiful spot where you can just get away from the drum of suburban life.

I have previously taken a photograph at this spot, and on both occasions I have begun to notice that seagulls are a fan of this spot too.

A nice and complete view of the area we were photographing that day. The hidden cove can be seen stretching across, and quite a few photos were taken facing towards this rock. Nice spot to go fishing too.

The last time I had taken a photo of this rock formation, the tide was very high, and I couldn't get into this little cove. Now the tide was low, and the beautiful shape of this rock was in full force. I did soak my jeans through doing this.

As can be seen from my previous photos, I just love the triangular shape of this rock. It is a nice rock, and makes for nice photos. It doesn't get much simpler than that (kind of reminds me of pride rock).

Fish :) I know I will find the scale texture pretty handy, and anyone else that needs it please do take.

I know it is a pretty much pointless photo, it is after all a lump of rock. But I think it is a pretty lump of rock, and it deserves its moment in the spotlight.

Just a closer view of the molluscs. They remind me of trilobites (and yes I am aware they are related). It is just really interesting to see them up close, and not just stuffed in a museum. Their shells are so solid you might as well touch the rock.

This one I feel makes for a pretty nice wall paper. The upright and spiky rocks are a nice contrast to the smooth and flat rocks at my feet. Must say, this one looks pretty good as an iMac Wallpaper.

Just a few molluscs who were enjoying the cold morning. They are abundant in this area because there are many crevices in the rocks, so there are many great places for them to seal to the rocks.

Another shot of Ash taking some photos with me at Point Peron. I think this one actually makes for a dynamic "photographer" pose for her.

I loved the way in which the black and white TOPAZ filter brought out almost each individual grain of sand. The water crashing over the rocks is in better detail with the lack of colour too.

This image I felt had more benefit being grayscale, as the textures of the water over the rocks are so rich in detail, it can only be amplified by black and white

My friend Ashleigh, also taking photos of point per on with me :) Like me, she had not discovered this place until recently, even though we have both lived around the corner from it the whole time!
