Learning the trumpet at the age of 10 along with piano and musical notation and dictation it influenced the creative techniques Dj VilliN uses in mixtapes, clubs and hip hop shows seen today. “I remember being in grade school and grabbing Vicente Fernandez vinyl and scratching it over some Fito Olivares cumbia songs, trying to recreate the early scratching heard in rock it and other early 90s songs, my parents used to get pissed hahahahha!”

Some of the DJ's that inspired Dj VilliN to pursue djing are: Dj Laz, Dj Rectangle, Dj Revolution, Dj Qbert, Dj Babu, Dj AL3, Dj Shy, Dj Frequency, Dj Meeklo, Dj Dragon, Dj Mike Sparks, Dj Trademark. After listening to these DJ's in action, collecting battle records became a big part of VilliNs life. Since DJ VilliN started his career as a DJ, he has held credit for AZCentral.coms BEST nightclub DJ 2010 plus almost a decade on KKFR 98.3 FM.
