He is the official tour DJ for legendary MC Bahamadia and other international hip-hop artists, including Hezekiah, Shape of Broad Minds, and Mr. Lif. Famously noted as “your DJ’s favorite DJ,” Statik’s sets have regularly hit popular New York venues such as Santos Party House, Sutra, SOBs and APT. He is an annual staple at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX and at Miami’s Winter Music Conference on South Beach. Additionally, Statik’s full and diverse roster currently includes a DJ residency for Heineken Green Room events with two.one.five magazine; various events around the world for the infamous Scratch DJ Academy, co-founded by the late DJ Jam Master Jay, and a residency with the legendary Beat Society producer showcase. Sonny James’ musicality as a producer can be heard on various remixes as well as on the Illvibe Collective debut album released on SoulSpazm/Fat Beats in 2011.
