One of UK hip-hop’s prime spinners of the early 90s, Pogo made his name through the World DJ Championships.
From there he took on remix and production work for UK rap troupes such as London Posse, Demon Boyz, MC Mell ‘O’, and Monie Love, as well as US imports like House Of Pain and Cypress Hill and even the Fine Young Cannibals. This in addition to his regular stints on London’s Kiss FM Radio Station. He was also the prime mover behind PLZ (Party A La Mazon), together with Brooklyn born and bred duo Regi and Fredi, who had been operating out of London since 1987. Regi is a former dancer while Fredi is a business student turned rapper. They met Pogo in 1990, releasing their first record as PLZ two years later (‘If It Ain’t PLZ...’/‘Bad Person’ on Go For The Juggler Records). Producing positive industry reaction, it was followed by the Build A Wall Around Your Dreams EP and a debut long-playing set.
