DJCASE, born in Chile, and raised in Boston, came onto the scene in 1994 whileattending Somerville High School.
Having always had the love for music, thatyear CASE decided to purchase his firs pair of (used) turntables and mixer, andlearn the art of DJ'ing. He acquired his skills by attending local partiesduring his free time, and by studying how DJs did their thing. He first beganDJ’ing House music, but always had an interest in Hip-Hop, so he began tolisten to radio and mixtape DJ's that, in the long run, started to influencehim. After recording their shows, and collecting their mixtapes, CASE began topractice his skills by mimicking those he listened to, and whose mixes hecollected. Among those influential to him are DJs Funkmaster Flex, Tony Touch,Ron G, Kid Capri, and DooWop, just to name a few. In 1995, he joined Boston’sDJ Crew, Super Plus Movement, founded by DJ Super Duke. Many wonder what CASEstands for, and many have asked: "Why the name CASE?", His reply is:"It's an acronym which spells out the following: 'Cause All (my) Skills(are) Essential.' My skills are what define who I am in this business."
In 1997, CASE got his firsttaste of on-air entertainment @ WRBB 104.9 FM, Northeastern University'scollege radio station. While attending Northeastern University, he, and theSuper Plus Movement team, took over the airwaves every Thursday and Fridaynight by bringing Northeastern, and Boston, one of the hottest Hip-Hop shows atthe time. CASE became a Northeastern University graduate in 2009.
