JAY FUNK:-

Multi dex & Fx scratchin' house fanatic, who morphs Jacking funkiness with techy electro flavours ,using upto five(!) dex and CDJ's with stacks of accapellas and loops from a vast record collection lovingly acquired of the years.Having held resisdencies in some of the worlds best clubs and for some of the UK's finest promotions ( Space, Eden , Es Paradis, El Divino, Ibiza, Pamshouse Uk , Good For Nothing, Finesse) and guested and toured around the world

for over ten years.

Always on the look out for new equipment and gadgets to keep up to date on technology to take mixing to new levels and to spice up his house sets.

A firm favourite for promoters all over the UK and Europe ,and fuels his hunger for new dancefloors to smash up!

Currently back in the UK till Ibiza beckons ,Jay has been played round the world in over 400 different clubs and has held resisdencies at some of the worlds best clubs including Space, Eden, Es Paradis in Ibiza, rapidly earning a reputation as a crowd pleasing DJ.

A veteran DJ of some 22 years, Jay got into beats from a very young age, influenced by the soul, funk and disco records of the time, Jay knew that his destiny was in music.

After purchasing his first decks aged 12, Jay practised every waking hour to hone his skills that would take him on a journey he could only have dreamed of!

As a forward thinking DJ, Jay started playing Hardcore at raves aged just 14 and studied his idols Masters At Work, Carl Cox , DJ Ratty and Derrick Carter to give him the edge on other DJs around him and was soon noticed as a promising young DJ; with a big career ahead of him.

As his musical tastes matured, Jay got into US House and garage eventually taking him into the skippy beats of then, the start of the UK garage scene. After many free gigs and a lot of hard graft, Jay quickly gained residencies throughout the East of England and was considered one of the hottest DJs on this scene, playing for many huge promotions such as Garage Nation, Inspiration, karisma, Bon Bon, Pamshouse and many radio stations; Jay hosted his own show on Flex FM for 5 years as well as guesting on other radio stations.

Eventually Jay started his own promotions and record label (Finesse recordings) with studio whiz NJC and co-DJ Danny J, they released remixes and bootlegs and the club promotion propelled Jay into bigger clubs to gain valuable experience behind the decks as well as behind the scenes.

Jay Always kept his love of house music and when the UK garage scene moved into 2-step, Jay disliked the change to the music and moved 100% back into house, a decision which paid off.

Jay quickly gained many residencies and guested up and down the country at clubs including M.O.S London, Heaven , Turnmills, Bar Rhumba, Aquarium, Honey Club Brighton, Matrix Reading, Hollywood Ipswich Uea Norwich,Essex Uni,Tidy Weekenders, Ibiza BIG Reunion Weekenders and more. He has also become in demand across Europe and played for MOS tours in Switzerland,Mallorca as well as dates in Slovenia,Croatia,Wales, Ireland, Ibiza, Cyprus, Australia, Thailand,Laos and the USA! Jay's multi-deck scratch infused sets of Soulful,deep, Latin, Tribal, Funky Jacking-Elec-Tech sounds made him stand out from other DJ's and his ear for future big tunes got him head-hunted to be the resident for Tonic in Ibiza, where Jay spent his first season playing weekly at Eden and the Space Terrace in 2003. His electric sets soon got him attention on the island and was soon playing gigs at venues such as El Divino, Bora Bora, Es Paradis,Plastik, Hush,Orange Corner, Itaca,Kanya Holiday FM, Live Mix Shows Back to the uk from the Mambo Studios and many other underground locations.

Jay was asked back to be the weekly resident at Space on the terrace for Good Fridays where he rubbed shoulders with some of his favourite DJ's. This is where he started his legendary 5 deck sets which blew away clubbers and promoters alike, and led to gigs across Europe and a residency for Garlands at Eden. Jay enjoyed a weekly main room and funky room slot, where his "Classics" sets packed the room out to capacity every week. Ibiza summer 2005 saw Jay back behind the scenes running Tidy Vs Extreme Euphoria @ Es Paradis for it's launch season where he played opening sets in the main room with tough House, but it was his quirky colourful promotion " PocoDisco" upstairs in The Gallery which had the dancefloors jammed with his mix of Funky , Balearic and Electro House. Followed by after parties at Blue Impact ( Extasis) becoming the place to loon out at after the clubs all kicked out!

Rawkus Noise -A Multi deck , Multi Genre mashup Dj whose House origins under the Jay Funk moniker has seen him play around the world for over 10 years with a multitude of residencies at some of the worlds top clubs including Space, Eden, Es paradis Ibiza and promotions around the Uk including Remix, Good For Nothing, Pamshouse and many other top nights.
