Dignan Porch began in 2010 as the home recording project of Joseph Walsh.
After putting a collection of his fuzzed-out psych pop songs online, Joe quickly caught the attention of promoters, press and labels. Pitchfork, Vice and multiple music blogs posted the songs and within a couple of months Joe had a full band together plus a single out on Captured Tracks. Dignan Porch were running before they could walk but they weren’t worried about it, they didn’t have a plan other than getting out there and playing shows.

Soon after the single came lo-fi debut LP ‘Tendrils’, a collection of heartfelt-melodic-noise-pop. The LP found praise in the right places, Stereogum called it a ‘Bedroom pop gem’, Vice Magazine gave it 8/10 and Rough Trade said it was ‘bursting with coolness and melodies to kill or die for’. Since 2010 Dignan Porch have released an EP called ‘Deluded’, a Split 7” and another LP ‘Nothing bad will ever happen’;

‘An enrapturing haze - 4 stars’ The Fly.

The live shows have also gone down a storm. Dignan Porch have been on their own extensive US, UK and European tours as well as many shows with like minded acts such as Times New Viking, Mac Demarco, Veronica Falls White Fence and Ty Segall to name drop a few.

‘The London five-piece, centered around the two Walsh brothers Joe and Sam, play a variant of fuzz-infused lo-fi punk that gives many of their US contemporaries a serious run for the money.’ - Drowned in Sound

Dignan Porch have a distinctly DIY ethos. They do all their own recording, artwork, videos, t-shirts - you name it. The band are a close knit group from South London, consisting of brothers Joe, Sam and Luke Walsh, Hayley Akins and Ben Goodwin.

“Dignan Porch just make it sound effortless. Well, it is effortless for them. It’s real. It’s a pure crystallised idea, boiled down to something very simple. With this kind of slackness percolating through every skewed vision, Joe Walsh and the gang manage to capture a truly thrilling ride without letting up on the honesty.” —The Line of Best Fit
