Denimor are an eclectic and engaging band with an international attitude from Turin, Italy.
They merge rock music with theatre and circus fantasies, they write illusory tales about magic and enchanted places, about true feelings and emotions; Denimor turn these stories into “melodic undertone sonic narratives”, that ride rock waves with symphonic hints on their top.
The band embrace the cinematographic atmospheres by Stanley Kubrick, Tim Burton, Quentin Tarantino and make full use of sound palettes by Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer. This is where Denimor find inspiration in the aim to give life to a Rock Circus in which the band perform as main characters.
“Fabulous Fantabulous” is the name of the ambitious masked artistic project, and the surreal Circus of the same name is set in the late XIX century. Allegoric characters and vintage clothed musicians introduce the audience to a visionary dimension, where space and time do not exist. The attendant himself becomes not just actively involved in the show, but also a mirror of the characters’ emotions in the tale, while between hidden dangers and lures both characters and audience will seek the way to happiness.
This artistic project began in 2009, and through the years had seen impressive collaborations with people in the likes of the world famous quick-change artist Arturo Brachetti, the Italian Master of Magic Luca Bono and the former Cirque Du Soleil artist Igor Matyushenko. The band also played the renowned stages of Heineken Jammin’ Festival in 2011, Rock in Roma in 2012 (being the opening act for The Cure) and Sziget festival in 2013.
Denimor toured outside national boundaries in the spring of 2012 (U.K., France and Belgium), and recently started the recordings of their debut rock opera at the prestigious Transeuropa Recording studio, under the artistic production of Fabrizio “Cit” Chiapello. First single and video are due to be out in summer 2013.
