François K. is revered as the founder of Deep Space and Co-Creator of New York City’s legendary dance party Body&SOUL.
He tours worldwide for not only his soulful house dj sets, but also for his techno and dub mixes. Over the years, he performed regularly at Studio 54, Paradise Garage, The Loft, Ministry of Sound, Sound Factory Bar, Twilo, Roxy and Club Yellow in Japan, to name a few. In great demand, François has gone into the studio to produce/remix recordings by Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Jimmy Cliff, Underworld, Eurythmics, Bunny Wailer, U2, The Smiths, Ashford & Simpson with Maya Angelou, Dido, Finley Quaye, Cure, Diana Ross, Mick Jagger, Fishbone, D Train, Erasure, Yazoo, Talvin Singh, Black Uhuru, Thomas Dolby and Jah Wobble.
In 2005, François was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame.
Since the party’s launch in 2003, Deep Space has featured a who’s who of well known and then emerging artists from around the world representing a stunning array of musical styles that Deep Space is known for integrating into its open minded aesthetic. While the mission of Deep Space remains committed to sharing a love of dub, a vast, under-appreciated musical direction, the party has invited a great range of guest artists to share their creative dub mixing approaches to all things spacey, psychedelic and mind-bending.

Deep Space has been presented abroad at the Big ChillFestival (UK), Plastic People (UK), TDK Cross Central Festival (UK), Space LabYellow (Japan), Café Jamaica (Japan), Precious Hall (Japan), Phase (Japan),throughout France, in Berlin, Denmark, SONAR Festival in Barcelona and acrossthe U.S. In 2010 Deep Space receiveda dedicated night at Burning Man’s Disorient camp. In 2004 Deep Space was nominated for “BestClub Night” by the internationally televised “DanceStar USA” awards. In 2005 & 2006 François K. won “BestResident DJ Award” at the Club World Awards held in Miami. Deep Space wasnamed “Best Party 2004” in Time Out New York. Deep Space was nominated for “Best Party,” at the Club World Awards 2006 and2007. New York Magazine featured DeepSpace in the “Best of New York 2006” issue. In 2013 Do Androids Dance lauded Deep Space as one of “The 10 Best Club Nights in the US.” François K. won “Resident Dj of the Year” by the 2015Nightclub and Bar Awards. Time Out New York named Deep Space one of the “top20 parties in NYC right now” in 2015.
In 2005 Deep Space NYC Vol. 1, acompilation mixed by François K., was released on Wave Music’s imprint DeepSpace Media to critical acclaim.
