Having gotten together in 1997 with the only purpose of just wanting to play music, Deepdown brought on their heavier sound of alternative metal that looked up to the likes of Rage Against the Machine and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to their native of Los Angeles.
With the lineup consisting of Brendan Morris (guitar), Glenn Perham (vocals), Kris Hunter (bass), and Chris Weible (drums), the band would eventually capture this sound with their self-released NXNW EP in 1999. ~ Mike DaRonco
