Dave Goodman has been cited by the Sydney Morning Herald’s John Clare as “one of the leading drummers in the country, and a star of a younger generation.


Dave graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree with First Class Honours 1999 and commenced a distinguished career performing and recording with a diverse range of some of the world’s best-known musical artists including James Morrison, Don Burrows, Galapagos Duck, Bernie McGann, Dale Barlow, Vince Jones, Deni Hines, Billy Field, James Reyne, Richard Clapton, Emma Pask, Thelma Houston, Roger Frampton, George Golla, Steve McKenna, Geoff Harvey, Ten Part Invention, Joe Lovano, Bob Berg, Kenny Werner, Cecil McBee, James Williams, Paul Bollenback, Matt McMahon, Sean Wayland, Mark Isaacs, James Muller, Steve Hunter, Tim Rogers, The Idea of North, Kerrie Biddell, Wesley Carr, David Campbell, Jenny Morris, Molly Ringwald, Darren Percival, Joshua Kyle and Felix Riebl amongst many others.

Dave has had considerable experience recording numerous soundtracks for television jingles, documentaries and movies; he has been commissioned to record several original compositions for Jazztrack on ABC Classic FM; he was nominated for a prestigious Freedman Fellowship in 2003; awarded 2nd place in the 1997 National Jazz Awards and 3rd place in 2004 and 2011. In 2011, Dave was awarded his PhD by The University of Sydney.
