With her powerful, soulful voice and her incisive songwriting skills, Dana Parish attracted a lot of critical attention.
Born and raised just outside of Philadelphia, Parish was already writing songs by the time she was 13 years old, inspired in part by the encouragement of her voice teacher, Paul Adkins. She went on to study at the Manhattan School of Music, gigging solo when she could and also working as a backup singer. Her debut album, It Was Beautiful, was released in 2003 by Company X Records. A sophomore effort, Uncrushed, produced by Andrew Hollander and tracked at Sugarbox Studios in New York City, appeared late in 2007, also from Company X. ~ Steve Leggett
