The Epochalypse is here...
These are the facts, they are utterly undisputed. The Epochalypse has arrived upon the rails of terrifying riffs and pointed aggressive vocals. It is all out war and there will be no mercy. Heed your only warning.
Epochalypse A.D. is a twelve song declaration of war. A war on middle ground, common, average music. The title emits visions of a total end. Universal and widespread destruction or disaster. It is just what music needs right now. Rich adds, "there is so much mediocrity and it just pisses me off! I want to make inspiring music that goes beyond the norm by any measure. I'm here to push and challenge you in a full on brawl."
The self-produced offering was recorded by Jason 'Jay' Walsh and mixed by Sterling Winfield. Sterling is most known for his work on the PanterA release "Far Beyond Driven" which debuted on Billboard at #1 and the many platinum and Grammy nominated releases he's contributed to. The CD features the song "I Hate Me". The debut song and video, it is a direct hit to the face driving metal song that makes no bones about it's statement. Cat continues. "We wanted to announce ourselves and the new material with presence and authority so there would be no doubt and "I Hate Me" does just that!" It's the type of song that pounds you into submission.
Epochalypse A.D. also weaves captivating melodies with some of the most focused music of this day. Yet there's space to breathe and subtext that feeds your cerebral plain as well. Finely crafted songs are displayed throughout. From the relentless measures of "False Hopes" to the acoustic gateway of "Sanctuary”. Songs like "Crime Legacy" and "Liar Messiahs" report the state of affairs and actions of man and hold all of us accountable to those actions. "Control" is a brutal force against your senses that shows no mercy and gives no quarter. The release is a total and complete effort.
"Betray" is a high energy kick to the crotch with texture and depth. It has off time drums with a locked in dark chorus. If you could directly plug into the head of Collins, this song is what you'd hear. Simply put, this song is a vision of insanity.
"My Eyes" drives you with the speed of anger. Prepare for a twisting turning ride that will shake you loose from your core. It's filled with a chorus that demands your attention and the pointed solo is laid on a foundation that lends itself to "old school" metal with a modern edge.
"The path to get here was grueling. At times a constant grind, yet at the end of the process, you're rewarded with a rebirth" says bassist Ricky. "This was a difficult situation to step into. Rich brought an approach and power with his vocals and I can't hear anyone else singing these songs. That's when you know you have something special. Pound for pound, I'd put these songs against any disc with total confidence."
"To whom great things are given, greatness is expected." A change in leadership is long past due and has just arrived. On the wings of that change is a powerful and refreshing metal onslaught. The choice to be made is to seek shelter or join the tribe. The movement has begun. Here endth the warning.
