Bringing An Abandoned Building To Life With Virtual Graffiti
Creators Project
There are plenty of abandoned buildings lying around, most of them lying neglected and unloved, so Daniel Silva decided to spruce one up with a little "virtual motion graffiti". The building in questions is the Monastery of Santa Clara in Portugal and Silva fills it with rising, colored smoke—an effect created by dropping paint into an aquarium. By superimposing it, the decrepit building is transformed, the peeling paint suddenly erupting with plumes of smoke creeping about like the smoke monster from Lost, as this doomed building becomes a dynamic hub once more.
