Under the direction of percussionist and founder Jerry Pergolesi, Contact has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious venues and new music festivals,including the Museum of Modern Art (New York), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (UK), Bang On A Can Marathon (New York), the Royal Ontario Museum(Toronto) and Open Ears Festival of Sound (Kitchener).Contact Contemporary Music is dedicated to interdisciplinary collaborations, nurturing and promoting the work of both established and emerging composers, performing in alternative spaces, and creating outreach opportunities with Canada’s diverse cultural and ethnic communities. In addition to its concert productions, Contact Contemporary Music presents INTERsection festival of music and arts at Yonge-Dundas Square and “Music From Scratch”, a summer workshop for youth.
