Country singer/songwriter Colleen McFarland was born the youngest of nine children and grew up near Jennings, MO.
She turned professional at 15, but went on to earn a degree in music performance at the University of Missouri in St. Louis. Relocating to the Northeast, she played clubs and festivals while also doing voice-over and jingle work. She self-released her albums Speaking in Rhymes and Three Miles from Odessa. In 2003, she moved to Nashville. She self-released her third album, Beautiful Lie, on her 9th Child label on May 1, 2006, and toured Europe in 2007. Her songs were featured on the network TV series Northern Exposure and Swingtown. On January 5, 2009, High Horse Records released her fourth album, Let It Shine. ~ William Ruhlmann
