Formed in the London suburb of Epsom, Clocks were a four piece rock outfit influenced by some of the legends of English rock, such as the La's, Oasis, Teenage Fanclub, the Beatles, and the Kinks.
Members Rich Farris (drums and vocals), Tom Hewitt (lead vocals and guitars), Ed Hilliam (lead guitar and vocals), and John Ricketts (bass) all met during their years as Scouts, and decided to form a band in 2000. Eventually deciding to take the whole ‘music thing' seriously, the band spent the better part of 2005 honing their skills and building word of mouth buzz. Eventually, the band released their debut single, "That Much Better," in 2006 on Hungry Kid, and the strength of the music was enough that major label stalwart Island Records courted the band into a contract. In 2006 and 2007, Clocks further refined their sound, touring nationwide and playing support to such established bands as the Fray and the Feeling. A second single, "All I Can," was released in January of 2008, which was followed by that April's "Old Valve Radio." The two singles were meant as a set up Clocks' full length debut release, which was slated for summer of 2008. ~ Chris True
