A true triple-threat talent, CJ hopes to sing, act and dance his way into the hearts and homes of America and the World.

Born Michael Christopher Kendricks in Atlanta, Georgia… the artist known as CJ prides himself on being an eclectic southern gentleman. The only child of divorced parents, CJ would retreat into musicand film to escape the rigors of daily life, fueling a vast imagination and uncontrollable urge to create. Although music was his passion, CJ chose to pursue the visual arts after being discouraged by family from pursuing any endeavors in entertainment from a young age well into early adulthood.

Throughout high school and well into college, CJ would exhibit extraordinary skill and immense interest in the world of Sequential Art(Comics/Animation). It is this interest that would lead CJ to the SavannahCollege of Art and Design where he would again find his way back to music as well as cultivate his talents for dance and acting.

CJ measures his success by the reach and appeal of his music.

Striving for that “Break-out Moment”, CJ created the band“CJ & the Chronics” in 2006 with a craigslist ad and a few flyers. With his band, CJ released an EP (LEAF LETTERS available on iTunes) in 2008 and played local gigs for about a year before splitting. They received marginal internets uccess with songs like HIGH, MESSAGE FROM ANNA, and GOOD ENOUGH. Released this year, the bands final project, STRING THEORY is meant to close the chapter on the band and introduce fans to CJ as a solo artist.

Finally comfortable in his own skin, married, matured and the father of one… CJ is ready for his star to shine. He has been stylistically compared to contemporaries like Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke,but CJ is definitely a unique individual. With eccentric tastes and a diverse creative palette, CJ is an artist to watch. With a vocal tone that recalls classic rock and old Motown, this crooner will melt your soul with his original stories and excite your youth with his energetic and gritty pop sound.
