Canadian singer/songwriter Christa Borden is perhaps best known for winning the reality television competition Popstars: The One in 2003.
A native of Newfoundland, Borden grew up studing piano and voice, and gained early performance experience while being involved in musical theater. She won the Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador pageant in 1998, and that same year began studies at Memorial University's Music School. After graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance in 2003, Borden auditioned for, and ultimately won, the top prize on Popstars: The One. After her win, Borden continued to write and perform music, and even made a guest appearance on the CBC television series Hatching, Matching and Dispatching in 2006. In 2010, Borden released her debut album, I Rhyme with Orange, featuring the single "Empty Bottles." ~ Matt Collar
