Although Chris Letcher was born and raised in South Africa, it was in London that his career as a singer and songwriter took off, which was confirmed with the 2007 album Frieze.
The album, which won a plethora of critical plaudits, helped land Letcher a spot at South by Southwest in Austin, TX, and other touring opportunities in Europe, South Africa, the U.K., and the United States. Initial success came in South Africa with the band Urban Creep, and after going solo Letcher worked with a number of different artists (Dave Matthews, for instance) and has also lent his talents to the world of film, composing a soundtrack for the Claire Angelique film My Black Little Heart. Frieze was the artist's fifth full-length. ~ Chris True
