Salathaian Hills known as the southern rapper ChaYsuh born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA hasn't always been one of the people's favorite but since the age of 10 he knew music was the profession he wanted to choose, being raised around family members who were djs, singers, beat-boxers, and battle rappers.
In elementary school, and middle school he was teased about his size and often got into psychical altercations over it. His first live performance was in 5th grade with fellow classmates as they did a show in front of other students and parents for their graduation going into middle school.Writing songs and hooks only went as far as his notebook until 2003 when he discovered the software acid pro where he then began to record himself and started to upload his music to the website still known Acidplanet.com. He quickly began to make a name for himself, by taking over the dirty south charts for days and weeks at a time, by coming out of his shell and speaking on his life experiences and realities of his surroundings. 2003 was also the year he met his long time friend Morgan Myatt now known to the world as Mac Minati and together they dropped a duo project in 2004 called "Game Tight". By combining each others support systems they both created a huge online buzz which lead to collaborations of music with other artist from different parts of the world.
In 2005 he met and began collaborating with TN producer/engineer Stubbz of Independent Musick. After appearing on the track "Jump Around" with artist such as Shadtree (R.I.P) and Lil Pat Stubbz immediately offered to fly him to Nashville and work on his first professionally recorded project entitled "Strictly Thuggin" This album featured production from both Stubbz and Mac Minati. Pre production began in the Fall of 2005, and recording began November of 2005, and finished April of 2006. Released in May of 2006 as a free album, it gained attention on both a local and national level. The album featured the club hit "To Tha Flo" which was produced and written over Dinner at a local Applebees and recorded the same night. Since that time ChaYsuh and Stubbz have worked on several tracks on mix tapes and collaboration albums, and still on good terms and remain in contact to this day.
ChaYsuh kept recording music and collaborating with other artist but his name didn't really start to capture people until the summer 2006 when he hooked up with independent record label owner William Waller based out of Philadelphia, and the unda-estimated series began. After fully finding himself and gaining complete confidence, recognizing his skill, and potential ChaYsuh took off and rarely looked back. Grabbing his audience by humor, emotion, confidence, and sure-ness, his rap style has been compared to a lot of the greats but he focuses on creating his own lane. Possessing innovative, and ground-breaking talent he dedicates his music to hold it down for the underdogs, and people who were told they would never make it. Making music people can dance to, but also following with music that gives inspiration, motivation, and truth.
