Launched by two music store employees in Tampa, FL, Candy Bars later expanded into the trio of singer/guitarist/keyboard player Daniel Martinez, cellist Melissa Castellano, and drummer Ryan Hastings.
After a couple of years of local appearances and private recordings, the members culled the best material to record their debut album, On Cutting Ti-Gers in Half and Understanding Narravation, released by Tampa label New Granada Records on May 16, 2006. ~ William Ruhlmann
