The Cabaret Grey project was established in the spring of 2010 in Poland.
Musical influences are mainly sounds from the 1980’s, but the band is not confined to underground music from this era and often draws on ideas inspired by more contemporary music, or even reaches further back, to the 1950’s or 1970’s. Some compositions are bursting with punk energy, while others are saturated with coldwave chill, or hypnotic mood pieces.

Up until Sept 2012 the band consisted of 2 members and now just consists of the singer/songwriter/musician Salomea Wrona plus guest musicians.

Since the split the former member of Cabaret Grey has rewritten the band history claiming that the band existed as an instrumental project before the band formed in 2010, which is not a true fact. Salomea Wrona came up with the idea of an Art Deco influenced band which can viewed in the artwork for The Stirring EP (the logo created by her registered company was based on a drawing by a polish artist Zofia Stryjenska) and from her love of coldwave music including a song by Autumn Cathedral entitled “Cabaret Grey ” which gave her the idea for the name of the band.
