Danish R&B star Burhan G sings in English, bears a strong hip-hop influence, and is stylistically very similar to Justin Timberlake.
Born Burhan Genc on January 20, 1983, in Brøndby Strand, Denmark, he got his professional start as a backing vocalist in the popular Danish pop-rap group Outlandish. He can be heard on the song "Walou" from the group's second album, Bread & Barrels of Water (2002). Burhan made his full-length solo debut, Playground, in 2004 on BMG. The album was a success, spawning the hit single "Take U Home" and earning three nominations at the 2005 Danish Music Awards (and winning in the category of Årets Nye Danske Navn [i.e., Best New Danish Artist]). In 2007 Burhan released his second album, Breakout, which features the singles "Who Is He" and "Sacrifice." Also in 2007 he appeared as the featured rapper on Ida Corr's smash hit "Let Me Think About It"; produced by Fedde le Grand, the song was an international success, charting all over Europe, including a few number one placements. In 2008 Burhan was nominated for several awards, including a Zulu Award for Best Male Vocalist. ~ Jason Birchmeier
