Largely serving plugged-up dub plates of funkadelic tribal-jazz, Brommage Dub is one of Sweden's more creative exports.
The intensely prolific Jesper Dahlbäck, also responsible for aliases DK, Seba, and the Persuader, along with DJ workhorse Jean Louis Huhta (Kozmic Niggah, Stonefunkers, Bob Hund) made the sort of far-reaching tech-house that was unlike Svek Records' usual sleaze-fixated pedigree. Although the band's unique sound began modestly with a self-titled single in 1997, the 2000 live addition of Swedish Grammy Award-winning trumpet-player Goran Kaifes was a welcome enhancement. With Kaifes in tow, the newly free-flowing three-piece blend of improvisational rhythms and redlined techno hit the Roskilde and Life Stockholm festivals over the next couple of years and a debut LP was set in motion soon after, allegedly in the form of three periodically released 12"s. ~ Dean Carlson
