Declan Melia (guitar, vocals) Nic Wilson (guitar), Matt O'Gorman (drums), and Will Drummond (bass), were teenagers when they formed in high school.
The band released their debut vinyl single 'Outside 109' in 2006 which came to the attention of national broadcaster 'Triple J' and renowned record producer Harry Vanda. Harry was one half of the famed production team Vanda & Young responsible for many successful artists, including AC/DC.

British India became one of Australia's biggest underground bands releasing 3 independent albums in 4 years 'Guillotine' (2007), 'Thieves' (2008) on Harry's Flashpoint label and 'Avalanche' (2010) through Shock. The band achieved 2 Top 10 ARIA debut's with 'Thieves & Avalanche'

Recognised for their hard work and extensive touring through both metro and regional Australia, British India built a strong and loyal fanbase around the country.

The band turned a new corner in 2012 signing with Michael Gudinski's Liberation Records & Mushroom Music. They released 'Controller' in 2013 their 3rd Top 10 debut and scored their first ever 'Gold Record' with the song 'I Can Make You Love Me' notching up sales of 35,000 +. British India are currently writing for their 5th album due out in September 2014.
