      Family & friends of Bo Diddley were in attendance at a special ceremony held yesterday (Thursday) in McComb, MS to designate a segment of US Interstate 55 in Pike County, MS, as Bo Diddley Memorial Highway. The section of highway involved begins at Exit 20A in Summit and extends southerly to Exit 13 in Fernwood. I-55 connects the Gulf of Mexico in the south to the Great Lakes in the north. It’s an honor to dedicate this section of highway in his memory" (Tom King, Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) Southern District Transportation Commissioner, November 2017) - Family & friends of Bo Diddley will be in attendance at a special ceremony Thursday to designate a segment of US Interstate 55 in Pike County, MS, as Bo Diddley Memorial Highway. The section of highway involved begins at Exit 20A in Summit and extends southerly to Exit 13 in Fernwood. The ceremony, which begins 10.30am Thursday (November 9th), is at the MDOT District 7 Auditorium located at 1076 MDOT Drive in McComb, MS. I-55 connects the Gulf of Mexico in the south to the Great Lakes in the north. Bo Diddley was born on a farm outside of McComb in Pike County, MS in December 1928:

Bill proposes to rename stretch of I-55 for Bo Diddley - A bill introduced this week in the Mississippi Legislature would rename a stretch of Interstate 55 (I-55) passing through Pike County, MS in honor of Bo Diddley. House Bill 1018, introduced by Reps. David Myers (D-McComb) & Anglela Cockerham (D-Magnolia), would create the Bo Diddley Memorial Highway. I-55 connects the Gulf of Mexico in the south to the Great Lakes in the north. Bo Diddley was born on a farm outside of McComb in Pike County, MS in December 1928:

      BMG buys control of Chess Records publishing company ARC - BMG has acquired a majority interest in the ARC Music publishing catalogue, originally founded in 1948 by Leonard & Phil Chess as the music publishing counterpart of their Chess Records label. BMG made the acquisition from Fuji Music Group (FMG). The ARC repertoire includes many of the greats of US blues & rock & roll, including songs made famous by Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Howlin’ Wolf, Etta James & Little Walter. FMG will continue to handle administration for the catalog in Japan & Southeast Asia.
