Roy Forbes was born in Canada in 1953 and nicknamed Bim by his father.
A Beatles fascination led to his first musical work in Vancouver in 1971. He played in coffeehouses along Canada's west coast, but came to Toronto, where he was signed by A&M in 1975. His albums under the Bim monicker include: Kid Full of Dreams (1975), Raincheck on Misery (1976), Thistles (1978), Anything You Want (1982) and New Songs for an Old Celebration (1985). On A Christmas Album (1985) and Love Turns to Ice (1987), he appeared as Ray Forbes; in 1989, he cofounded UHF (Ulrich, Henderson and Forbes). ~ John Bush
