New York-based Batidos (milkshakes in Spanish) comprised Chicago-born DJ and producer Ron Trent and acid jazz Groove Collective's talented saxophonist, flute player, and clarinetist Jay Rodríguez.
The experimental duo teamed up with Grammy winning Chucho Valdés and percussionist Eddie Bobe to make their debut record, Olajope, an experimental album featuring traditional Latin American rhythms, jazz, Afro-Cuban sounds, and electronica. ~ Drago Bonacich
