Creating intense crossbreed-styled themes, inflamed by ska, punk rock, and other alternative options, Bankshot externalizes the mission of genuinely defying style barriers with its diverse ensemble.
Formed in Richmond, VA, in 1997, Bankshot gathered the efforts of Danny Bowder (vocals, guitar), Jason Clark (trombone), Jonathan Godwin (drums), Andy Lopez (trumpet), Lawrence Lopez (tenor saxophone), and John Mason (bass). Defending their thrilling and enthusiastic themes at breath-taking live shows all over the local club area, Bankshot promptly became a reference within the surrounding music scene. During the following three years, the band continued to tour intensively, and at the same time prepared to record their debut record. In 2000, Bankshot, their self-titled and self-released debut album, hit the record stores, achieving significant results and exciting reviews by the media. In the following year the crew suffered its first lineup changes, when vocalist Zach Woodson and Danny Browder left. The band then continued to relentlessly play live while searching for the corresponding substitutes. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges
