Hello beautiful world,
My name is Alexandria (Allie) Hill and I am currently a singer/songwriter in Dallas TX.
I am a navy brat, born in Honolulu, Hawaii on June of 1975, and I have lived in Japan, California, South Carolina, Texas, Indiana, Louisiana, Colorado, and I am back in Texas today. I have been playing keyboard since I was nine and picked up guitar at age 30. I have been a writer(..or artist) since I was given a crayola. I love to draw fantasy artwork and can recreate most any piece to whatever size.
By middle school, I helped start our schools first choir with a petition created by my music teacher and I. I guess that was my first lesson in word of mouth marketing too:) I soon became an entrepreneur when realized if i can draw it, the kids would buy it:)$.50 signed/$1 unsigned.. so they could claim it to be their own:o I use to sell poster boards of my artwork in high school, $5 for a drawing/$10 for colored. I once thought I would make my own cartoon, coloring book, poster collections, or even calendars..yet I couldn't break from writing music.
Also in high school, I began my quest for a band membership, but everyone decided to go to college and work on computers?!! or have babies...and I joined the baby makers, instead of the college bound.
I love every aspect of art from visual to audio:-) I love making friends and hearing new music so hit me up for an invite to the next upcoming venue that ROCKS! I promise to do the same:-)
Please do not be shy about asking me a question or giving me advise on how to improve my project, you maybe all that was missing:-)
I am an OWL:-)I miss my owl friends who I met during my tenth grade year, attending Garland High School. You know how you find people you haven't seen in forever and all of the sudden... a flood of forgotten memories enter the moment. There once was an abandoned house and horses near by, do you remember? -.-
Every one has childhood story that made them who they are. Mine has several chapters that can be burned-.-
I was raised as a Buddhist, and one of my first recollection of a church experience was with my father in S.C. I broke into fever when we arrived at parking lot of the church. I vomited by the time we seated ourselves in the church. (Yes, I though that the devil was trying to keep me from church and yes i pushed myself to be there..lol I was 11yrs old and wanted to go to heaven) SO with my puked covered dress, I went home to face my mother who asked me why I thought I needed to change and prove myself. She told me I am perfect the way I am and loved.
I went to bed thinking to myself, the devil wont let me in church, it was just a three day flu. I would have to read the bible, watch church on T.V. and learn from friends til I was 13yrs old. I feared the devil would cripple, if not kill me, for trying to learn something I am unfamiliar with? (Kids think up the strangest and most imaginative things don't they?)
I am currently blessed with a new life change and love. He is definitely my hero without a bulletproof vest. He is my perfect energy, my soul mate. With him, my life has become a musical of love and light.
I am half-Japanese And love to love and live to move!
Babelfitz emerged 2011. Currently Babelfitz singer/songwriter Allie(also keyboardist/guitarist), has been working on piecing together her first CD. The music and idea was inspired by the many life changes and conversations that lead up to today.
The song "Lonely" was written after the passing of one of the greatest and most influential man of her life. His love for her, her life, her music and voice opened up a new level of confidence in Allie. He showed her the love that the world said did not exists. He honored her ways, forever repeating " We make God so happy, He loves us so much, We are so blessed." He had a song in his voice everyday and created an open atmosphere of musicians' play. He helped Allie rediscover herself and she learned how to play songs just to hear him sing:) taking her guitar skills to another level.(good for Allie! and Thank you Joey!)
"Through the snow" is the second guitar piece that Allie wrote with her amateur picking style instead of her amateur banging the rhythm out( good for Allie!)The lyrics are actually about P.T.S.D, and how are minds can struggle with a reality that is not ours.
"Flower in bloom" could of been a short poem but it just seemed to need a place in the world, other than in a notebook according to Allie's bored side. (it is not for album..haha!)
The problem with Allie's project is that there is no structure or style limiting her imagination. She wants to be sure that her family and friends see every bit of her little person personality.(Allie is 5ft 1in)
Allie's influences include but not limited to -Alice in chains, Red Hot Chili Peppers, NIN, 10 Years, Evanescence, Staind, Eddy Brickell, and Tricky.
I sure do hope you smile some when you listen, i would even love it if you laugh, it is okay if you cry too, BUT if my music for any reason makes you angry, violent, confused, nervous, suicidal, or feel wronged in any way; I will pray for your poor tortured souls and do apologize for any and all inconveniences.
Yours Truly,
Allie^.^
