A Welcome Distraction started in early 2008. Alex (Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals) and Javier (Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar) decided to start a band. Alex with a background in death metal and Javier with punk rock would come together to form a twist of Rock, Pop, and Metal.
