Venezuelan violinist and violist Elena Rojas has a Diploma in performance from the Simon Bolivar Conservatory- Venezuela, and a Bachelor and a Master of Arts degree in violin performance from Queens College, where she graduated summa cum laude and studied with Daniel Phillips.
Prior her studying in New York, Ms Rojas was a member of the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra-Venezuela, touring with them through Europe, Asia, and America. Ms Rojas performed regularly with pianist Wei-Hsien Lien, and with guitarist Sylwia Kloc, and participates extensively in the performance of contemporary music.

Past engagements include solo appearances with the Queensborough Symphony in New York, with the Olavarria Symphony Orchestra in Argentina, with the Trujillo Symphony in Venezuela, and recitals in Argentina, Portugal, Venezuela and USA. In 2006 she performed her New York Recital Debut in the Weill Hall at the Carnegie Hall, as one of the winners of the Special Presentations Awards of Artists International Presentations33rd Annual Auditions. While in New York, Ms Rojas held a successful private studio, and from 2007 to 2009 Ms Rojas was a faculty member of the music department of the United Nations International School, Queens Campus.

She currently lives in Portugal, and is the String Orchestra and IB Music teacher at the Carlucci American School of Lisbon.
