Kentucky-born, Oregon-based singer/songwriter Ashleigh Flynn's twangy tunes are rooted in the kind of Americana-tinged folk that nods to artists like Devon Sproule and Gillian Welch.
Her self-titled debut full-length was released on Home Perm Recordings in 1999. Two more albums followed over the course of the next seven years: 2002's Chokecherry and 2005's Sneakin' Out with Ashleigh Flynn. When she wasn't in the studio laying down tracks, she was on the road, performing at high-profile festivals like Bumbershoot, SXSW, and Bonnaroo, not to mention a dozen or so regional folk festivals. She snagged numerous songwriting awards during this time, and toured the West Coast with artists like Nanci Griffith and Willy Porter. Her fourth studio full-length, American Dream, hit stores in early 2008. ~ Margaret Reges
