Madonna has announced that new single ‘Medellin’ from her new album ‘Madame X‘ will arrive on Wednesday (April 17).

This week saw the icon confirm details of ‘Madame X‘ – her first album in four years and the follow-up to ‘Rebel Heart’.

Now, she’s taken to Twitter to confirm the release of launch single ‘Medellin’, featuring the Colombian singer Maluma.

Taking to social media last week, Madonna posted a video with the caption “Welcome to the World of Madame X.” In the clip, she portrays the life of a secret agent known as Madame X. Dressed in various outfits linked to a series of different identities, Madonna then  proceeds to tell a group of people sat a table: “I decided to call my record ‘Madame X’.”

“Madame X is a secret agent. Traveling [sic] around the world. Changing identities. Fighting for freedom. Bringing light to dark places.”

“She is a cha cha instructor. A professor. A head of state. A housekeeper. An equestrian. A prisoner. A student. A teacher. A nun. A cabaret singer. A saint. A prostitute.”

Meanwhile, Madonna has been confirmed to perform at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Last week, representatives for Madonna confirmed to NME that she’ll be performing two songs at the final on May 18 in Tel Aviv.
