Mumford & Sons have shared the moving video for their single ‘Beloved’ – check out the clip below.
Taken from their fourth studio album ‘Delta’, which came out back in November, ‘Beloved’ is the second single to be released from the LP.
Directed by BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Charlotte Regan, the Port Talbot-shot clip centres on a boy and a woman who break free from a hospital to enjoy some time together in a dream-like sequence which culminates with the pair riding on two horses. The narrative then delivers a crushing end sequence which, as a press release describes, “reflects the song’s lyrical touchpoints of death, the heartache of its acceptance, and the long-standing memories we cling to in its wake”.

Speaking about the video for ‘Beloved’ and the deeper meaning behind the song, frontman Marcus Mumford said: “Everyone knows loss in one way or another. This song is about that. I’d never sat with anyone as they died before, and it had an effect on me. As it does everyone I know who has experienced it.
“But there’s wildness and beauty in it as well, and a deep honoring, that became the beginnings of this song that we worked up called ‘Beloved’. I feel determined for people to take whatever they want from it, and not to be emotionally prescriptive.”
Earlier this month, Mumford & Sons covered Nine Inch Nails’ classic track ‘Hurt’ during a show in Cleveland.
