They took us into a van
Elizabeth Olsen has revealed the drastic lengths undertaken by Marvel to avoid leaks from the set of Avengers: Infinity War – and it’s pretty drastic.
The actress plays Scarlett Witch in the MCU and was one of the many stars to meet a crumbly end at the hands of Thanos as the filmed ended.
But as she appeared at ACE Comic Con with Paul Bettany last weekend, Olsen revealed how the cast were told of the film’s ending only minutes before they filmed their actual death scenes.
If that wasn’t enough, they were only told the all-important information as they crammed into the back of a van.
“I found out from the Russos exactly what was going to happen and it wasn’t until we shot it on that day we learned what the ending was,” Olsen explained.
“They took us into a van – all of us – we were in a van with air conditioning because it was very hot and they told us how the movie was going to end and no one knew.
“And they were like, ‘Now we’re shooting it, go!’ and we were like, ‘How are we supposed to interpret that?'”
It STILL didn’t stop there, however.
If the cast wanted to read the script, they were forced to cast their eyes over it in a room that contained no windows after leaving their phones at the door.
Makes sense.
“We couldn’t take our time at home or anything like that – they wouldn’t give us a hard copy,” Olsen added.
“I just got my pages and even my pages had a fake ending and multiple fake things in it.”
The sequel to Avengers: Infinity War is set for release in 2019.
