Nailed it.
Brilliant footage has captured the moment that Dave Grohl and daughter Violet teamed up for a stunning cover of Adele’s ‘When We Were Young’.
The touching father-daughter duet took place on Saturday night, as Grohl headlined a benefit concert for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco.
After performing acoustic renditions of seminal Foos tracks including ‘My Hero’, ‘Everlong’ and ‘Times Like These’, Grohl introduced his eldest daughter onstage to perform the track.
“I remember her saying, ‘Dad, you’re not even the best singer in the family,” Grohl told the crowd beforehand.
“And she’s right!”
In the footage of the performance, 12-year-old Grohl proves that she’s very much on the way to becoming a star in her own right, showing off some seriously impressive pipes.
The performance was then followed by an acoustic rendition of 2017’s ‘The Sky Is A Neighbourhood’, which saw the pair being joined by Grohl’s 9-year-old daughter Harper.
Meanwhile, things recently got a little awkward at a Foo Fighters show in Nashville after a youngster was invited onstage and refused to leave.
“The band played a show at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Friday May 4 where they invited a Venezuelan kid named Little Fonzie onto the stage to drum on Taylor Hawkins’ kit.
Calling the child’s father onto the stage, Grohl then joked: “What are we gonna do? There’s nothing we can do… We’re not in day care right now.”
