The trailer is coming later today...
While fans were left wondering if his whereabouts in Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel have unveiled the first poster for Ant-Man And The Wasp – ahead of the first full trailer arriving later today (May 1).
Unveiled by Evangeline Lilly (who plays Wasp in the franchise), the bold and dramatic new poster also depicts Paul Rudd returning as Scott Lang for the sequel, along with Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Michael Douglas as Hank Py), Laurence Fishburne (as Bill Foster), Michael Peña as Luis, Bobby Canavale as Paxton, and Judy Greer as Maggie.
The “formulaic but consistently entertaining” Ant-Man hit screens in 2015, proving a hit with comic book fans – leading many to hope for the character to have an important role in the recent box office smash and critically-acclaimed, Avengers: Infinity War.
Released last week, Infinity War made $39 million (about £28.3 million) in tickets sales on its first night alone.
Avengers: Age of Ultron took $27.6 million on its opening night while the recent recording-breaking Black Panther managed $25.2 million, making Avengers: Infinity War Marvel’s most successful debut.
In our review of Infinity War, NME wrote: “There are flaws — a lot happens very quickly and some of the supposed main characters feel like cameos. Infinity War is under pressure to be the most exhilarating experience yet, but it sometimes sacrifices story for spectacle. Even Thanos (Josh Brolin) could do with a few more lines.
“For the most part though, this bonkers blockbuster is an entertaining and surprisingly emotional flick that will keep everybody happy.”
