U.S. Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon is back from the Winter Olympic Games and one of his first stops is The Ellen DeGeneres Show. On Thursday’s episode, the stars talk medals, PyeongChang, and, well, boys. After expressing some mutual admiration (Rippon tells the talk show host that he’s wanted to be on her show 27 out of his 28 years alive, at least!), they get down to the important stuff: celebrity crushes.

So, who makes Rippon’s list? “A solid answer is like, Jake Gyllenhaal,” begins Rippon. “I used to have a really big crush on Harry Styles.”

When DeGeneres asks what happened to his feelings for the former One Direction singer, Rippon shares that someone else caught his eye. “Here’s the thing, I was sleeping on Shawn Mendes…not literally…I didn’t realize how cute he was!” he tells DeGeneres, who is a tad confused by his wording. “I know Harry will be upset, but…love is a funny thing.”

DeGeneres tells him those are all good choices before advising that maybe he should try dating gay men instead. “You’re going to have a better shot at it,” she tells him. “Just go for some openly gay men that look like them.”

Let’s not forget that he could always ask Sally Field to set him up with her son, Sam Greisman, who has an “Olympic crush” on Rippon.
