on The Late Late Show
When you think of great method actors, you think of names like Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro, and Daniel Day-Lewis. Now add another name to the list: James Corden.
On The Late Late Show with James Corden, the host explained his acting process for his new movie, Peter Rabbit. “The part becomes all consuming. So when I got offered the role of Peter Rabbit, I didn’t just want to play the rabbit, I wanted to be the rabbit.”
Corden’s Peter Rabbit costars Margot Robbie and Domhnall Gleeson also appear in the silly segment, becoming more and more perturbed with his ‘method’ technique. He even appears as Peter to give a monologue for his show, delivering some cheesy rabbit puns.
Gleeson, fed up with the antics, prompts Corden into a method acting meltdown, though as Robbie explains, “I wasn’t surprised. I mean, when you exist solely on a diet of carrots, lettuce, and tree bark for six months, eventually you’re gonna break.”
