"Get ready, witches"
Netflix have announced the premiere date of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 2, as well as sharing the very first teaser trailer.
After the first series proved a hit with both fans and critics, the darker reboot of the classic show will be returning across the streaming platform on April 5, 2019.
Promising that the show will make next year “a bit more magical-and a lot sexier”, the short teaser trailer doesn’t give much away, but shows the titular character at work, at play, up to sorcery, and getting into some misadventure.
A statement reads that the cast will include Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, Lachlan Watson, Bronson Pinchot, and Gavin Leatherwood.
Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has also penned the script for the series.
Meanwhile, they’ve also revealed that a special Christmas episode called A Midwinter’s Tale will be available to stream on December 14.
“During our holiday special, we’ll get to see what Sabrina was like as a precocious tot,”said Netflix. “And while The Church of Night celebrates the Solstice, that doesn’t stop Li’l Sabrina from asking Santa for something special.”
