The pop star reveals 'Melodrama' album art/details via Instagram.
Lorde has been hinting at new music for the past few weeks, and today the New Zealand pop star not only released her latest single, "Green Light," but details about her sophomore album, Melodrama, as well.
Debuting the new tune on Beats 1, the singer told Zane Lowe the track “had to be really special” and that it couldn’t “sound the same as the old stuff,” also divulging the song is about “my first major heartbreak.”
“It’s not something that I really am used to writing about… It took me a while to be able to figure out how to write about that,” she admitted.
Lorde then took to Instagram to reveal details about her upcoming album, Melodrama, including the album art. The caption reads: "“Green Light is officially out in the world, and i am so pleased to share with you that this song is the first from my sophomore record, Melodrama. this is the cover, painted by sam mckinniss. welcome to the new world.”
Though no release date has been announced, we can officially get excited for more new material from Lorde, who released her breakthrough debut album, Pure Heroine, back in 2013.
