Garage Palace is on the way...
Gorillaz have announced ‘Garage Palace’, their new single with Little Simz.
The track, which is set to premiere on Apple Music later today, was announced on Twitter – along with artwork that features the cartoon band alongside an animated interpretation of Little Simz.
The surprise release comes after Damon Albarn recently revealed that he’s considering the possibility of releasing another surprise Gorillaz album, having dropped ‘The Fall’ in 2010 with just five days notice.
“I really like the idea of making new music and playing it live almost simultaneously,” Albarn told Q. “It will be a more complete record than ‘The Fall’, but hopefully have that spontaneity.”
He also revealed that he’s coming ever closer to creating a live Gorillaz show using holograms, which he had previously anticipated becoming a reality.
“My dream of being able to see holograms of real people onstage is close now. That was the idea at the beginning. We’ve been very patient and we don’t have that long left”, he said.
Gorillaz will return to the UK in December as part of their European tour, taking in shows in Manchester and Birmingham before concluding with two massive shows at London’s O2 Arena on December 4 & 5.
