The pop star explains why she said what she said.
Madonna may have inspired many who were at the Women's March on Saturday (January 21), but all the swearing and a comment "about blowing up the White House" has been criticized. So Madge wanted to clarify her statements but also proved to stand by the spirit of what she said.
"I am not a violent person," she wrote in a post on Instagram. "I do not promote violence and it's important people hear and understand my speech in it's entirety rather than one phrase taken wildly out of context.
She explained her train of thought throughout her speech and ended by writing, "However, I know that acting out of anger doesn’t solve anything. And the only way to change things for the better is to do it with love."
