The rapper also noted that Eminem will appear on his upcoming record.
Big Sean shows off his softer side on "Halfway Off the Balcony."
"I'm the livin' proof that you don't need a master's just to be a masterpiece," raps Sean. "People passin' faster than I'm passin' weed / My daddy tell me, 'Stay strong, Son, and be the man you have to be.'"
The song comes off of the Detroit rapper's fourth record I Decided, which is set to drop on February 3. Fellow Detroit superstar Eminem will be featured on one of the tracks, called "No Favors."
"Eminem, he was the only person I heard that could be on that song, to keep it honest," said Sean to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 (via Billboard).
"It just reminded me of why I am such an Eminem fan. It reminded me of why I fell in love with Eminem’s work. He is unique, he’s special. And that’s what I was thinking, when I first heard him he was bringing new flows to the game. When he did this verse it brought that feeling right back to me, wow this is like a brand new energy."
