From The Beach Boys to Weezer, here's how TBS prefers to soundtrack the summer.

Taking Back Sunday has been pretty consistent ever since the band’s debut record came out back in 2002. Every couple of years or so they’d release a new collection of pop punk anthems. The seventh installment — entitled Tidal Wave — hits stores on September 16 to score your final days of summer, so it’s only natural that bassist Shaun Cooper made us an exciting and eclectic playlist of his beloved summer gems. Get a blanket and a six pack of beer and head to the nearest beach with your buddies to listen to this festive compilation.

Roger Harvey - "City Deer"

I first heard this song in the spring and I wanted summer to get here.

Weezer - "Wind in our Sail"

The other song I heard back in the spring and I couldn't wait for summer to get here!

The Bouncing Souls - "Say Anything"

This song reminds me of summer of 1998.

The Queers - "Mirage"

Summer 1997 I played this in the car during drivers ed. Everyone thought I was weird.

The Dwarves - "Everybody's Girl"

Summer of 1998 I was a camp counselor and listened to this song everyday.

Saves the Day - "Shoulder to the Wheel"

Favorite song from my favorite album of 1999.

Ramones - "Do You Wanna Dance"

Listened to this song as a kid dreaming of how life would be as an adult. The others were:

The Ronnettes - "Be My Baby"

The Beach Boys - "Don't Worry Baby"

The Drifters - "Save the Last Dance for Me"
